Community Projects & Charity
Sometimes the smallest gesture can make the biggest difference! Hence, whenever possible I try to get involved with not just charities, but also community based projects in order to give a little something back. It gives me great pride to be associated with a number of organisations who are filled with wonderful people, doing great things for a great cause. If I can in my own way continue to bring awareness to some of these initiatives, if it inspires others to play their part and pay it forward then that's always a good place to start!
SKIPS Educational
SKIPS focus on championing family and parental engagement through learning, improving literacy and numeracy through reading, whilst keeping children safe through education. We’ve all seen how quickly technology has evolved and with online schooling now prominent, I’m concerned when it comes to keeping children safe online. Which is why Safety Net - Staying Safe Online is incredible in terms of the reach to parents and teachers. The fact that such an initiative now has the backing of the Home Office, Prevent and West Midlands Police Commissioner really shows the impact. It’s the duty of us all to protect the growth and development of those who will go on to continue our legacies, so we must do what we can to help maintain the innocence of our children along with ensuring they receive an education and level of learning that will help them as they develop. It gives me great pride to be an Ambassador alongside my own mum for such an important cause. If we can spread the message, get people talking and create positive engagement then hopefully it will make a difference to many a family.
Wolves Foundation
The Wolves Foundation is the official charity of Wolves FC, focusing on educating and inspiring local people and communities, creating opportunities and changing lives.
As a charity which encourages healthier and more active people, lifelong learning and skills and the development of safe, strong and active communities, Natalie has had the pleasure of working with the Foundation for the last couple of years as part of their Molineux Sleepout initiative in association with the Good Shepherd Wolverhampton.
Good Shepherd Wolverhampton
The Good Shepherd's main mission is aiming to create sustainable pathways out of poverty to end homelessness in Wolverhampton. Having donated to the organisation for a number of years, it has been a great privilege for Natalie and Jaki to work even closer with them over the last couple of years, strengthening their bond further during the recent pandemic.
This Is My City Birmingham
Natalie is extremely proud to have been made an official Ambassador for This Is My City Birmingham as of 2020. This is a community programme linking all residents in Birmingham and celebrating the identity of the Commonwealth communities that settle in the city. Having already ran a Music Matters: Support and Guidance in the music industry workshop during the peak of the pandemic, along with a podcast around Weight Gain, Body Image and Mental Health for This Is My Lockdown, Natalie welcomes many more opportunities to provide a positive voice for those in the Midlands alongside the organisation.
Indie Business Live
With so many independent businesses having felt such an impact since the start of the pandemic, Indie Business Live wants to recognise and celebrate all small businesses, no matter now niche or tiny, whether they’re trading from a shop, a van or their spare room, with a view to connecting small businesses across all regions, sectors and demographics. The aim is to create a panel of representative voices, who truly understand and recognise the needs of small businesses, facilitating proper consultation and engagement with the government and other associated bodies. Indie Business Live is there to offer the support and guidance those smaller businesses need in which to survive the current economic climate.
